| Our centre, based in Italy at Thiene airport (icao id: LIDH - Click here to see where we are) in province of Vicenza, is certified to offer the TEA Test (Test of English for Aviation) in order to get English language proficiency certification. |
| All pilots from Slovenija, Croatia, Austria, Germany and coming from all Europe are welcome! |
| The TEA test is about 25 minutes long and is about generale English in an aeronautical envirnment (it is not a radiotelephony exam!). You'll receive a score from level 1 to 6. Level 4 is the minimum required to fly in IFR or on international routes and it expires after 3 years, level 5 expires affter 6 years, and level 6 is considered as mother-tongue so it never expires. If you get level 3 or lower, you'll have to improve you English skills and do the test again. |
| Structure of the Test: |
| The TEA test - Test of English for Aviation, prepared by the Mayflower College of Plymouth/TEA Ltd (UK) has 3 parts: |
| 1° part, Interview: little interview with the examiner about your flying experience, your job, your role in aviation. Click here for an example. |
| 2° part, Interactive description: you'll hear 10 recordings and you have to repeat/relay the information contained in those messages. Click here for an example. |
| Then you'll here some more recordings and you have to ask question to the speaker and give advice to help him to solve the situation. Click here for an example. |
| 3° part: Description & Discussion: in the final part you'll be required to describe some pictures and then you'll discuss with the examiner about an aviation-related topic. Click here for an example. |
| The test result will be available in 10 working days. The score is determined by the local examiner and the TEA Ltd monitor randomly the tests to verify the standard. |
